From Maestro Andrew Kurtz
This season, the Fort Myers Mastersingers collaborated with the Gulf Coast Symphony for a performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony as part of our inaugural season of classical concerts at the Barbara B.
Mann Performing Arts Hall. Beethoven’s 9th Symphony is a true choral masterpiece and a tremendous challenge for any chorus. I chose the Mastersingers to collaborate with the Gulf Coast Symphony on this performance because they are perhaps the best regional chorus in Lee
County and have a stellar reputation of creating exciting performances of the highest quality choral repertoire.

The Mastersingers were not only well prepared artistically, but brought tremendous enthusiasm and a true energy to the performance. Their music director and conductor, Jeff Faux, is an inspiring leader. He coached them into creating a well-blended choral sound that was rich,
robust and dynamically varied. This performance was a resounding success and it represented a tremendously successful collaboration between our two organizations. Without a doubt, the Mastersingers are one of the finest choral groups in Lee County. We have invited them to
participate in our 2013-14 season to sing Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Gulf Coast Symphony in March, as well as inviting them to perform on several other concerts.

After watching you Saturday night at The Mastersingers concert with Ft. Myers High School students, several thoughts raced through my mind.
• How wonderful it was for the young people to have the opportunity to sing, under your? leadership and with the skilled voices of the adults??
• Your comments regarding our participation in choir were right on track. We love ?going to choir practice and love the desire you put in our hearts to do our best
• As I've said before, your skills and leadership are appreciated by? all of us!!
Jeff, I just want, once more, to emphasis how wonderful it is to be part of ?the music program at First Presbyterian. Thanks for everything. ??

What a performance last night. All thirteen of our guests stated that they really enjoyed the event. You certainly are a talent that we do not experience very often. Thank you for all you do especially with the students. Thank you so much,
Maureen Montgomery
Letters to Jeff Faux
I have been meaning to tell you how much we enjoyed your fabulous concert in March with the Mastersingers. I will say that it has been many years since I’ve heard such a well-trained choir performing with such a well-trained conductor!! You did an absolutely fantastic job with the choir and orchestra!! We thoroughly enjoyed it. We also greatly appreciated the well thought out and written program notes. I haven’t ever read anything so interesting about such challenging choir concert music. Well done! You have some real talents! We’ll look forward to next season.
Love, Gail and Glenn

The Mastersingers concert yesterday at Moorings was stunning, wonderful, beautiful and breathtaking. The choir, orchestra, soloists, and conductor were superb, but to have your Program Notes made the experience not just enjoyable but allowed me to enter into worship as the composers intended. Thank you for your gifts and for using them to God’s glory.

Hi Jill & Jeff,
What a wonderful concert. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole performance. Usually the choir is the backup to the soloists, not this time. This time the soloists were backups to the choir; the choir was that outstanding. The soloists were a perfect match and I look forward to hearing them again. Great job!

Just a brief note to let you know how much Karin and I enjoyed the concert you directed at Moorings Presbyterian Church. We not only enjoyed the superb music, but appreciated the excellent commentary in the program to assist in the understanding of the composers and the message conveyed. Thanks so much for you significant contribution to our community. It made for a wonderful day.
Warmly, Jim and Karin Anderson.

The concert Sunday afternoon was wonderful. You did a fantastic job. The turnout was terrific. I thought your program notes and pre-concert interview were terrifically helpful to non-music majors like me! Congratulations.
